This day is recognized for a local 96 year old WWII Veteran named Bob Palmer.

Mr. Palmer served in the US Army from August 1942 to December 1945.

For the past 30+ years Mr Palmer has categorized and placed over 1200 flags each year on Veterans graves from the Southeast, mostly by himself.

In 2012 The Bob Palmer Project began, for our community to be able to participate in Mr Palmer's efforts.

Our community now places the 1200+ flags on the last Saturday every April to prepare our Veteran's graves for Memorial Day and to honor Bob Palmer and his commitment to our veterans and community.

The New York Riders are very humbled to be able to participate in such an important event of remembrance for our veterans.
